Matt Greenaway Fund for Experiential Political Learning at Xavier
Our goal is to raise $50,000 for the Matt Greenaway Fund for Experiential Political Learning. The fund will provide a dedicated source of funding to support Xavier students’ participation in presidential campaigns, internships, and other experiential learning opportunities in American Politics – including a 2024 presidential campaign trip.
Xavier alumnus Matt Greenaway (Xavier ’15), a Pittsburgh native and one of the first students to participate in the Gene Beaupre State Politics Internship program, helped guide Xavier students during a successful visit to the 2016 Iowa caucus. He had been working in Iowa for several months as a field operative to the Hillary Clinton campaign and he shared his expertise with student, helping them better understand the state, its politics, and how the caucus process differed from the primary systems used by most other states.
Thanks to the support of Matt’s family and friends - and donations from the March Gladness campaign - we were able to bring 32 students from the political science, PPP and Smith Scholars programs to Iowa to observe the 2024 Iowa caucuses that took place earlier this year. Your donations to the fund will help us continue to provide Xavier students with transformative experiences.

Personal Message
Thank you for supporting the Matt Greenaway Fund and for all you do to support Xavier students!
Why are donations necessary?
Donations ensure that Xavier programs have the financial support necessary to provide students with opportunities to engage in experiential political learning opportunities at minimal cost (ideally, no cost!).
