In Memory of Justin Wheeler
The Justin Wheeler Memorial Scholarship was established in memory
of Justin Wheeler. Justin, who graduated from the Williams College of Business
in 2010 with a degree in finance, was a 4-year member of the club hockey team.
During this time, he was a 2-year captain and 3-year officer (including
President his senior season). His leadership skills, both on and off the ice,
helped catapult the program into heights unimaginable when he first stepped on
campus. After graduation, Justin returned home to his native Buffalo where he
continued his leadership and charitable nature – coaching a multitude of youth
& high school hockey teams over the next decade. This scholarship is
intended to honor his legacy and continue the pursuit of academic excellence at
Xavier University.
How are my donations used?
Donations to The Justin Wheeler Memorial Scholarship will be used
to establish a permanent endowed scholarship fund. The Justin Wheeler Memorial
Scholarship will be awarded to the individual who best embodies Justin's
leadership and charitable nature. The scholarship will be awarded in the Spring
to a rising Senior.
What is the goal?
The scholarship was established in 2021 with a five-year goal of
raising $50,000, and after four years, roughly $49,000 has been contributed to
the endowed scholarship. This will spin off funds in perpetuity for rising
Seniors who embody Justin’s great qualities.
