About the Fr. B Scholarship
Started by a number of individuals whose lives were
positively impacted by Fr. Bischoff. Description: This scholarship fund was
created by the former students and friends of Rev. Albert J. Bischoff, S.J. on
the occasion of his 75th birthday in 2002. It benefits qualified Xavier
students with financial need. Fr. Bischoff has served Xavier University in a
variety of roles over 30 years. He has been a professor, team chaplain,
residence hall chaplain and currently is a member of the Campus Ministry staff.
His dedication to Xavier students is legendary, and his homilies at the many
liturgies he performs in Bellarmine Chapel and in the residence halls are
remarkable. “Father B” is a Xavier graduate himself, earning a BS degree in
history in 1949 prior to his entrance into the priesthood. He received an M.Ed
degree from Xavier in1958.
Awarded to a full-time sophomore, junior or senior with
demonstrated financial need in order to help student retention. Exceptional
student conduct/activities required.
