The Digital Innovation, Film and Television program is in the Communication Department and cultivates students to become responsible, adaptable, and innovative leaders in a complex and rapidly converging digital environment. With a concentration on digital media production and the art of visual storytelling, DIFT endeavors to prepare students through hands on learning, cross-disciplinary study, team building, and community engagement. DIFT prepares graduates for careers in the creative and corporate digital environments of film, television, broadcasting, producing, multimedia, content creation and in technology areas that are emerging. All donations will go towards purchasing innovative equipment that keeps DIFT students on top of new trends that will be in demand tomorrow.

Donations are applied to...
This year, the funding will be divided between what DIFT needs now (two 4K cameras for seniors) and support for DIFT long-term through our newly created endowment fund, The Endowment for Digital Innovation (TEDI). TEDI will support activities such as student recognition, the purchase of state-of-the-art camera equipment, and other emerging technologies. As the fund grows, it will also contribute to student financial support and support for student content creators, student managers, and networking opportunities with alumni.

Why are donations necessary?
With so many rapid advancements in technology, your donation helps the DIFT program purchase cutting-edge film and television equipment that supports the teaching of the next generation of content creators and storytellers for years to come. Our operating budget is very small, so funding DIFT this year will help us purchase some much-needed equipment. Donations this year will be split between what DIFT needs now and long-term funding through The Endowment for Digital Innovation.
